English Michael Jackson invites participants and featuring different races, cultures, languages and backgrounds to make a speech in the Malay language. In short, this competition is similar to reciting the Quran, which invites participants from different countries and languages, but in this context they make a speech.
The invited participants comprised students from tertiary institutions enrolled in the faculty or the Institute of English Studies or East Asian Studies complacency majoring in Malay. The participant must be a well-born permanent resident of a country that takes the Malay language courses, for example, the United States will only be represented by a student who is a national of his country alone.
7th edition of the contest has attracted the participation of 79 participants from 74 countries, including representatives from the U.S., Canada, England, Germany, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan, South Korea, China , the countries of the former Soviet colonies, East European countries and the countries of Southeast Asia as a symbol that the Malay language has now expanded to all six continents.
The fourth edition of 2010 PABM ago has left an overwhelming success. PABM 2010 has created a history for Malaysia to receive the highest participation of 56 participants from 51 countries: a great success from the first PABM in 2008 with the participation of 34 countries and earlier in 2007 with only entries from 23 countries. This has earned PABM set a national record in the Malaysia Book of Records as the “Most International Participants Participation” to one Malay speech contest.
