Tomato and Basil Finger Sandwiches

A smear of reduced-fat mayonnaise and some fresh basil allow ripe tomatoes to shine.

  • 4 slice(s) bread, 100% whole-wheat
  • 8 teaspoon mayonnaise, reduced-fat, divided
  • 4 slice(s) tomato(es), thickly sliced
  • 4 teaspoon basil, fresh, sliced
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper, black ground


1. Cut bread into rounds slightly larger than your tomato-a biscuit cutter works well.
2. Spread each slice with 2 teaspoons mayonnaise.
3. Top with tomatoes, basil, salt and pepper.
